 Colin Crooks, Chief Executive Officer

Colin Crooks CEO

 As a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management and achieving an MSc in Environmental Conservation, Colin is well versed in environmental issues. Colin's first business was Papercycle, a successful commercial paper recycling business which he set up and ran for five years. Colin has also been the Chief Executive of the Renew Trust, a second tier not-for-profit organisation setting up projects that provide training and employment in white goods refurbishment.

Now CEO of Green-Works which turns over £2m a year and employs more than 30 people, Green-Works has recently been awarded the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise 2008 - Sustainable Development. Current projects also include donations to Africa for schools, hospitals and local facilities helping to redevelop many war-torn communities.

 

 Steve Swords, Corporate Sales Manager

Steve SwordsSteve has been with Green-Works for 5 years and heads up the Corporate Sales Team. Their main function is to engage with organisations both large and small and sell the Green-Works reuse and recycling solution. Steve focuses on large projects and key clients such as RBS & Barclays as well as engages with partners such as Harrow Green and Steelcase.

Prior to Green-Works, Steve was a senior recruitment consultant for Corporate Finance and Management Consultancy practices and interestingly enough is now working with a number of the same organisations that he did when in recruitment.

 

John Fleming, Chief Operations Officer

John FlemingJohn is used to leading in large format, fast moving retail environments implementing sustainable change in commercial, local authority and the Third Sector. John joined Green-Works in 2009 to help the team with the process of change and to seek and take up the opportunities of working in partnership with other social enterprises and charitable organisations.

He comes with a broad business background having worked with John Laing, Woolworths, Boots and Scottish & Newcastle as well as Third Sector experience as Head of Division with Morph - part of the training Charity Pecan that was brought together with a division of the Shaftesbury Society to create a reuse division of Pecan called Morph.

 

Eileen Browne, Corporate Office Manager

Eileen BrowneAs corporate office manager - Eileen will likely be your first point of contact. Eileen has been at Green-Works almost since the beginning and covered a variety of roles. Eileen not only takes the initial enquiries she gets those enquiries to the right person to give you the information you need!

Eileen is also the person that feeds back to you on where your donated furniture ends up and what it's been used for. With each consignment of donated furniture we will provide you with a detailed audit trail for your records to enforce your environmental credentials.
